Stories
Working with the people who live off the land here, we’ve come across so many interesting and unique tales that we think deserve to be documented.
This is our tribute to local folklore and our contribution to the passing on ancient stories to a wider audience for generations to come.
The stories in the following pages might contain topics that are strange, unfamiliar, or don’t fit with the cultural expectations, but that’s entirely the point.
Even the structure of the stories might deviate from what we’re used to, and that’s another important point to notice and appreciate.
This is a document of the stories that would have been told around the fireplace for countless generations, and it is necessary to the mission of this project that they’re published as close to the way they are told as is possible.
Hopefully, as this page evolves, quirks and patterns will emerge that highlight the uniqueness of the topics, frameworks and methodologies involved in old stories, told by mouth.
